Charity for All People

A thousand thanks to all who have opened our website and responded with helpful hearts. Although several pages detail specific charities, this page - still under construction - avails to you the ability to click on and learn more about agencies with whom we are visibly connected, serving as their volunteers, as their board members, their donors, their friends......

For example, every year dozens of UN designated refugee families are re-settled in our neighborhoods. Displaced from their homes by political, religious, and ethnic strife, they are given an opportunity to begin life anew. We help them feel welcomed. We have opportunities to visit with them, as well as donate furnishings for their homes, and to become their American friends as they adjust to life in our nation. Please see Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project.

With Jenny and Bob's love, guidance and support as Trustees, Furnishing Hope was created to help our neighbors transitioning out of homelessness get a fresh start. The organization collects donations of furniture and household items and distributes them to people in need. We invite you to see our List of Items Needed.

After first being launched from funds donated by Stimulus Dollars through the City, Urban Outreach and the United Way, our Permanent Supportive Housing's residents in Tempe (Home at Last) are now funded by The Ramsey Social Justice Foundation.

Following her mother into The Salvation Army when she served as a Social Worker, Jenny has served on the Tempe Salvation Army Board and has for years organized the ringing of the bells for the Army's Kettles each Winter.

Lifelong support of the Jewish National Fund, launched with small change in the Tzedaka Box for the Ben Gurion fund, resulted in the award of the Tree of Life for Jenny and Bob in 2010.

Serving the United Farm Workers' cause alongside Cesar Chavez during their teen years, Jenny and Bob have supported the work of Mr. Chavez and UFW for decades, earning a lifetime achievement Legacy Award in 2012.

Just two of several good-hearted Founders of Tempe's rotating homeless shelter - the Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program (I-HELP), Jenny chaired the Study Committee to bring an end to sending our homeless neighbors away, and instead taking care of them in our town, in their town, Tempe.
